1983 — a year worth remem­be­ring. At least for us, because it marks the birth of WALDIS Tresore AG, which was foun­ded as a sole pro­prie­tor­ship at the time. As the com­pany name sug­gests, there was a per­son with the same name behind it: Hans Waldis. He reco­g­nised the need for secu­rity and set hims­elf the goal of manu­fac­tu­ring the most burglar-proof safes. To achieve this, he and his con­stantly gro­wing team spent years tin­ke­ring and expe­ri­men­ting with the best com­pon­ents and mate­rial com­po­si­ti­ons until they finally found one that could with­stand all endu­rance tests.

The first offi­cial cer­ti­fi­ca­tion by the Swiss Safety Insti­tute took place in 2001 and many more fol­lo­wed in sub­se­quent years — right up to the pre­sent day. Ulti­m­ately, this tire­less ambi­tion to achieve the hig­hest pos­si­ble level of safety has ensu­red that the com­pany is still going strong more than 40 years later. With the inno­va­tive spi­rit of the entire team, we work daily on the design and production of new and even bet­ter pro­ducts. We are proud of ever­ything we have achie­ved so far — but even more proud of what we will create in the future.
